About Us
The Agricultural Waste Stakeholders' Forum which involves Defra, the Environment Agency, the National Farmers Union and a range of other organisations with interests in agricultural waste, agreed to put together the ‘Waste Directory ’ to help Agricultural and Horticultural businesses find ways of managing their waste when new regulations came into force in 2006.
In 2006 NetRegs, a partnership of the Environment Agency, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and the Environment and Heritage Service, Northern Ireland (EHSNI), secured funding from the Defra’s Business Resource Efficiency and Waste (BREW) fund to extend the principle of the Waste Directory to all business.
With the funding NetRegs has been able to extend the services available for the recycling and disposal of the waste generated from everyday business. Improvements have been made to the site, which include a comparison chart, which identifies instantly, which sites can deal with your waste requirements. A map of where the sites are located from your chosen point of origin, whether this is a postcode or town. Directions to and from the site are also available.
Help and advise are always at hand, the new site will provide you with electronic version of the ‘Duty of Care Transfer Note’ which should always be used to transfer your waste. To help you fill in the ‘Duty of Care Transfer Note’ the European Waste Category (EWC) Codes will also be available to view or download.
